Caseblog : Consultancy Incentive in Athens

For the seventh time in a row, this consulting firm chose an incentive program through Act-Wise. The briefing? Sunshine, delicious food, relaxation, a great party, and above all, lots of fun with the group. We looked at Nice and Athens, and the latter won. This is no coincidence, as Freya has had a soft spot for Athens since her four-month internship there. After their visit to Mama Mia! The Party In January, the decision was quickly made: Athens it is.

Friday: group photos and Greek sunset

On Friday, we gathered with the 50 participants at Brussels Airport. Everything went smoothly: no delays, but lots of enthusiasm. Arrival in Athens: group photo! Or maybe not… the boss wasn’t there yet. Oops! So: take two. Then we took the bus to the restaurant, where we were treated to a beautiful sunset while enjoying our first Greek delicacies. The evening ended in a relaxed atmosphere in the hotel bar.

Saturday: pistachios, tattoos, and dancing with a view of the Acropolis

On Saturday, we took to the water on the Grand Bounty, a spacious sailboat bound for Aegina. Playlist on, wind in your hair, sun on your face, drink in your hand — and above all: enjoying each other’s company.

First stop: Aegina, the island of pistachios. We visited a local merchant, sampled their specialties, and were given a bag to take home. Then back on the boat to Moni Island, where we anchored to swim and enjoy a BBQ buffet with fresh salads.

Tattoo time!
On the boat, we organized a sticker tattoo contest. The assignment: stick the company logo on a colleague, in a visible and original place. Backs, heads, arms, legs — no part of the body was spared. Within the bounds of collegiality, of course 😄.

After returning to the hotel, we had time to freshen up, and then we jumped on the bus to the center of Athens. At Skyfall, we enjoyed dinner with a view of the Acropolis. Even before dessert, our group was already dancing. Stop at 1:00 a.m.? The atmosphere was so good that we stayed an hour longer.

Sunday: senses on high alert & awards with kitsch

On Sunday, we were up early (with sleepy eyes and big suitcases) and ready for a morning in the center of Athens. In smaller groups, we explored the city with all our senses:

• Greek coffee & Greek delight tasting
• Dancing the Syrtaki to the Zorba song
• Komboloi workshop in Plaka
• Ouzo & meze tasting
• Homemade lemonade & spoon sweet

We concluded with an impromptu award ceremony during lunch at the foot of the Acropolis. The awardees:

🏆 Frank – tattoo on his bald head (which wouldn’t come off)
🥈 Hein – tattoo on his forehead
💃 Maureen – got ALL the men on the dance floor at Skyfall

The awards? Carefully selected (read: mostly kitsch) from the local souvenir shop: snow globes of the Acropolis.

Then we said goodbye to Athens and to our colleagues who were staying a little longer. Ready for the next edition!
