Sustainable congress in Lyon

The briefing: ‘organize a conference over 3 days / 2 nights for general practitioners with a focus on sustainable travel’

For one of our clients, we have been organizing customized medical conferences for more than 5 years. We were used to taking flights, buses for transfers and without considering the carbon footprint of hotels and other suppliers.

We did a complete turnaround by traveling to Lyon by train with 150 people. It is only 4 hours from Brussels and 3h20′ from Lille and there is no check-in procedure, no security check so not much time is needed before we board the comfortable train. Efficient, fast and sustainable.

And we arrived in the middle of Lyon, so not at an airport outside the city.

From the train station, it was a 4-minute walk to the very comfortable Pullman hotel. No transfers needed, no buses … just a short walk to the hotel.

The brand new Pullman is very focused on sustainability and CSR, so it was the perfect place to hold the conference during the day.

In the evening, restaurants were within walking distance, so again we did not need bus transportation.

The client was very impressed and we are already looking at a similar concept for next year!
