DEN HAAG – City of style, sea and surprises
In April, our colleague Sarah hit the road with The Hague Convention Bureau for an inspiration trip through The Hague. What followed was a surprising mix of history, creativity, culinary highlights and unique locations. From atmospheric hotels to original event venues and from city walks to beach experiences, this versatile city proved to be the perfect destination for meetings and more. Read along and discover The Hague through the eyes of our Sarah.
Our exploration of The Hague began with a warm welcome at the charming Carlton Ambassador. Located in a quiet neighbourhood full of character, within walking distance of everything the city has to offer: cosy pubs, excellent restaurants and the vibrant city centre. Nearby is the Hilton The Hague, where the cocktail bar is an absolute must.
During the city tour, we took a time travel through the city. From the enchanting Panorama Mesdag, past the grandeur of Hotel Des Indes, to a relaxing moment at the seaside during the Scheveningen Beach Experience. The day ended atmospherically with dinner at the marina.
Our stay at the modern Plesman Hotel, strategically located between the city centre and Scheveningen and right next to Madurodam, combined comfort with a fresh, contemporary feel.
A visit to the Fokker Terminal showed The Hague as the place to be for meetings and team building. We then enjoyed an artistic afternoon at the Mauritshuis, where the famous Girl with a Pearl Earring came to life. A creative painting workshop completed the picture.
As a spectacular finale: the Louwman Museum – an original event venue with an impressive collection of cars that tell stories. At the Conference Centre, we concluded with an inspiring workshop: a perfect end to a multi-faceted, surprising Hague experience.
The Hague grabs you. Don’t let go.
