The Antwerp Chocolate Crisis: How We Solved a Dessert Disaster Without Anyone Noticing

Until that one relieving response came: “Yes, I have two. You can come pick them up now.” Within five minutes, two of our colleagues were on their way to what was at that moment the most important destination of the evening. The journey through the city felt like a small rescue operation, but with melted chocolate at stake.

All’s well that ends choco-well

The two extra fountains arrived well in time. Before the dessert moment began, the buffet was proudly displaying an impressive trio of chocolate waterfalls. The guests saw a rich and perfectly arranged dessert buffet. They tasted, enjoyed, laughed. What they didn’t see: the nervous phone calls, the sprinting colleagues, or the quick thinking in the heat of the moment.
